Searches continued for a missing Moray man yesterday as concern grew for his welfare.
John Loughrie was last seen at his home in Findochty on Sunday afternoon.
Police are re-appealing for the public’s help to find Mr Loughrie.
Yesterday, officers and coastguard teams carried out ground searches in an area east of Findochty.
On Tuesday, the search area focused between Cullen and Buckie in the early hours of the morning when a helicopter scoured the Moray coast.
Locals in the area reported seeing the helicopter swoop the coastline a number of times before stopping to liaise with colleagues searching on the ground.
Officers have so far traced the 51-year-old’s vehicle, a grey Ford Ranger truck, on Church Street in the village.
Inspector Michael McKenzie of Buckie Community Policing Team said: “Thank you to everyone who has contacted us so far with information relating to John’s whereabouts.
“As time passes without any contact, concern is growing for his wellbeing and safety.
“I would ask locals, particularly those in Findochty, to please check gardens and outbuildings while searches continue in the area.
“Officers are being assisted by colleagues from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police on 101 quoting incident 2740 of February 9 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
Mr Loughrie is described as being 5ft 11ins, of medium build with brown hair and wears glasses on occasion.
