A Moray woman is organising a fundraiser in memory of her father who died last year.
Sandy Hamilton lived with long-term lung condition COPD for many years before dying as a result of complications with lung cancer.
Now his daughter Shona Kellock, 54, from Elgin, is preparing a race night in memory of her dad – and to support her mother Isabelle who suffered a major stroke two years ago.
Money raised from the race night at New Elgin Hall will be split between Macmillan Cancer Support and Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland.
Mrs Kellock said: “After seeing the impact COPD had on my dad’s life and then losing him to such a horrible disease, we knew we wanted to do something to help others.
“I’ve also watched my mum try and rebuild her life after her stroke and the money raised from this event can hopefully help other stroke survivors like her.”
Doors open for the Saturday, February 29 event at 7pm. Admission £3. Contact Mrs Kellock on 07835 026271 for information. Over 18s only.
