A Moray charity has received £12,000 in support to help provide life-changing opportunities to individuals in the great outdoors.
Outfit Moray delivers over 100 Activ8 sessions every year, including Easter, summer and autumn holiday programmes, which are attended by nearly 700 local children.
In support of their work, Boeing has now contributed more than £12,000 to the charity’s Activ8 programme, which has been supporting young people within the local area since 2003.
Their donation will enable the Lossiemouth-based charity to continue providing an array of activities to introduce young people to new skills, help build their confidence and integrating them in the local community.
“This support from Boeing is vital to help us bring the life-changing benefits of outdoor learning and adventure to young people who might otherwise not have the opportunity”, said Tony Brown MBE, chief executive at Outfit Moray.
“Against a backdrop of limited transport connections, reduced local funding and limitations on broadband connectivity, Outfit Moray is giving young people challenging and enjoyable experiences that are designed to meet their specific needs and help improve their quality of life.”
This grant is part of Boeing’s 2019 global charitable grants donation totalling more than £36million.
Sir Martin Donnelly, president of Boeing Europe said: “Knowing that young people who live in rural areas often face social isolation, it is important for us to support increased access to outdoor learning opportunities and activities for those living in Morayshire.”
