An arts project in Moray that has supported vulnerable young people has been nominated for a national award.
In the Mix, which was run by Findhorn Bay Arts, has organised creative activity sessions for youngsters at risk of isolation, offending or deprivation.
The aim of the initiative was to break down barriers to the arts industries by providing information and expertise on digital music making, circus skills, drumming, photography, filming and other fields.
During the project’s three-year term, 35 young people participated, with 12 of them progressing to undertake arts courses at Trinity College in London.
Now the venture has been nominated in the National Arts and Creativity category at the National Youth Awards, which will be held on March 12 in Glasgow.
Anne Grant, assistant service manager at Aberlour Youth Point, said: “Participation in the creative learning activities helped to increase confidence.
“All 35 young people are now more active, school and college attainment records have increased and all are engaging in various local community groups.”
