The Scottish SPCA are celebrating after finding loving homes for several abandoned cats in the north.
Persian cat Celeste was found abandoned in a garden in Lhanbryde, near Elgin.
A concerned member of the public discovered her in poor condition before phoning the Scottish SPCA animal helpline.
At the Aberdeenshire Animal Rescue and rehoming centre, she was found to be suffering with a number of health issues.
She was emaciated with heavily matted fur as well as infections in both ears and possible cat flu or respiratory issues.
Her poor condition caused her to suffer seizures and enlarged kidneys, but following six months of rehibilitation and a lot of tender loving care, the charity have found her a new home.
Animal Rescue Officer Michelle Mann said: “I’m over the moon to say that Celeste found her loving forever home with a family that had experience with Persian cats.
“They fell in love with her right away and she immediately settled in to her perfect new home.”
The charity have also found new homes for a cat and her litter from the Isle of Harris.
Maggie was found abandoned in a cardboard box at a hotel in Tarbert, in freezing conditions, having given birth to a litter of three kittens one day earlier.
SSPCA officers said she was waiting in vain hope her owners would return. They are understood to have left the island a few weeks earlier.
They were taken to a local foster carer before being taken to the charity’s Highlands and Islands Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.
Auxiliary inspector Maggie Adkins said: “We’re delighted to say that Maggie and her three kittens, all of which were named Harris, found their loving forever homes.”
