The Gordon Castle Highland Games and Country Fair is returning this year with an eclectic mix of family entertainment.
A a way of celebrating its 10th year, Gordon Castle is running a competition with local schools to design an anniversary flag.
Pupils at Craigellachie, Findochty, Milnes, Mosstodloch, Portgordon and Portknockie Primary School have been asked to use their imagination and creativity to design the flag, illustrating what a traditional Highland Games means to them.
The winning entry will be flown on the day and gifted to the successful school.
Held in the historic grounds of Gordon Castle, the event brings together traditional Scottish entertainment and country sports performances.
The heavy events arena will host the Scottish 28lb Weight for Distance Championships, in addition to a caber toss, massed pipe band parade and tug of war.
Visitors have also been promised by the organisers that they can expect more quality trade stands, a dedicated talent stage, a brand new VIP area and a street food vibe to the food offering – showcasing the finest local artisan fare from pizza to pancakes.
After the success of 2019, the Gordon Setter gathering will be back once again to raise awareness about the declining breed.
Also returning for 2020 is Gig at the Games which will be staged in the estate’s new venue, Tower Hall, and will feature a range of local musicians.
The event will be held in the grounds of Gordon Castle estate in Fochabers on Sunday May 17, from 10am to 5pm.
