Residents are being urged to check outbuildings as the search for missing Moray man Clive Hewes continues.
The 46-year-old from Lossiemouth was reported missing by his family on March 7. He was last seen around lunchtime on March 2.
A multi-agency search has been launched and supported by members of the local community.
Inspector Keli McPhail, Moray Police Division, thanked the community for their efforts so far.
She said: “We really appreciate members of the local community participating in the ongoing search for Clive. Lossiemouth has always been a close knit community and it is shown by their efforts, commitment and the support that we have received. Our search adviser, Constable Jim Montague briefed the group today and we are providing assistance to their searches.
“Specialist search resources are being used and our search activity will continue until we find Clive.”
She asked local residents to search their gardens, garages and any outbuildings while boat owners are urged to check their vessels in case Mr Hewes has “taken refuge somewhere”.
On Tuesday a search was carried out following a possible sighting of the missing man in the Shore Street area of Lossiemouth.
police officers and members of the coastguard carried out searches along the coastline and in the surrounding area while members of the police diving team scoured the harbour area.
When last seen, Mr Hewes, known locally as ‘Maz’ or ‘Mazzy’, was wearing dark-coloured jeans and jacket and white trainers.
He is described as being 5ft 10 and slim to medium build, He has brown, shaved hair and grey eyes and is clean-shaven.
Sergeant Neil Morrison, of the Lossiemouth Community Policing Team, said previously: “As the passage of time increases we are becoming very concerned for his welfare and it is imperative that we trace his current whereabouts as soon as possible.”
