Footpaths have been sealed off in a Moray town following the discovery of a body.
Police were called to Haugh Road in Elgin shortly before 8am.
Officers secured an area on the River Lossie near Moray Leisure Centre while investigations were carried out at the scene.
Tape was set up to prevent access to walkers while the specialist teams were working in the area.
A police spokesman said: “We can confirm that officers were called to the Haugh Road area of Elgin at about 7.55am on Monday following the death of a 54-year-old man.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and, as with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
