A Moray radio station is broadcasting church services for people across the region with places of worship closed during the lockdown.
Keith Community Radio is taking to the airwaves to provide services led by KCR presenter David Sim. They will be broadcast on 107.7 FM at 10am every Sunday.
For anyone outside the KCR broadcast area of Huntly to Forres and Buckie to Dufftown, the service is also webcast through the station’s website.
The new service supplements KCR’s long-running gospel hour broadcast at 9pm on Saturdays and 1pm on Sundays and Revving Up broadcast at 7pm on Mondays and 11am on Tuesdays.
Mr Sim is himself a trainee minister in the Church of Scotland and believes the services are doubly important in such uncertain times.
He said: “While church buildings are closed, it is important the church remains open.
“The radio offers a way to reach people from across the area regardless of whether they normally attend church and even if they don’t have the internet.
“The aim is to provide somewhere to reflect and to celebrate all that is good in the world in this time of crisis.”
KCR chairman Eddie Stuart added: “It is great to get the church service up and running.”
