A Moray outdoor charity has welcomed a new national initiative to help fill the financial gaps left by the coronavirus crisis.
The 2.6 Challenge encourages people to raise funds for charities like Outfit Moray by completing an activity based around the number 2.6 or 26.
It will launch tomorrow to mark the day of the 40th London Marathon.
This initiative will allow the charity to bridge the finance gap left by the cancellation of fundraising events such as Cairngorm to Coast and having to shut their doors due to the pandemic.
Community fundraiser Karen Cox said: “Participants can do anything that works for them.
“It can be something straightforward like a local run, jogging around your garden or taking part in a video exercise class, or you can come up with something wacky that incorporates the number 26.
“Those who are already doing our Lockdown Mile Challenge can incorporate it in their weekly or monthly target.”
The charity’s chief executive Tony Brown said it was a “great” national initiative that would bring people together.
Mr Brown said: “We, like many charities, are facing a significant financial challenge.
“Finding different ways to raise funds is incredibly hard, as so many people are struggling.
“We are hoping many choose to help us, while having a bit of fun during these difficult times.”
