A Moray teenager who travels to hospital up to four times a month for treatment has gathered bags of gifts to support medics.
Eleanor Hamson Burch, from Forres, regularly travels to Inverness and Elgin for care related to her diabetes and Turner syndrome diagnosis, which can cause short height, heart and kidney problems and infertility in one in 2,000 girls.
The 14-year-old, who also has learning difficulties, wanted to gather support for the doctors and nurses who support her after hearing about the coronavirus pandemic.
More than 70 bags packed with gifts including toiletries have now been collected by the teen as well as four boxes of wine and another four boxes full of chocolates to handover to hospital staff.
Mother Louise Hamson said: “She just wants to give back. When this all started she said to me ‘Mum can I do something?’
“It started with pulling a few things together from friends and neighbours but it has really taken off with some people handing in boxes of stuff.
“She mainly sees the doctors at Raigmore but sometimes goes to Dr Gray’s – she’s usually there about three or four times a month so she’s got a really strong bond with all the staff that she sees, they really are brilliant with her.”
