Families in Moray who are facing financial hardship can get help with paying for food through a new fund.
Money is being provided to councils across the country by the Scottish Government and the European Social Fund through the Flexible Food Fund.
The fund aims to support and help people improve their lives in the region, and will offer further assistance to those eligible for the free school meals scheme.
Cash from the fund will be available monthly based on the number of adults and children that are in the household and initially for May and June.
Entitlement is based on individual household circumstances and is part of a wider package of support that is provided by Money Advice Moray.
The organisation helps to appeal benefit decision and support with budgeting income and outgoings, and ensures households get all the benefit income they are entitled to while also assisting with bills and debts.
Applicants should telephone 0300 123 4563 about accessing the support needed.
Organisations and support services acting on behalf of all people in need can refer clients by visiting www.moray.gov.uk/downloads/file128761.pdf to complete an application form.
