An online auction of paintings will be held to raise money to save a hall at the heart of a Moray village.
Burghead Community Hall will sell off a collection of paintings that have been in storage since before the large hall refurbishment to ensure it can reopen after lockdown.
It is run by a committed crew of volunteers and well used by regular groups and for social events such as coffee mornings.
Committee member Jill Jones said the fundraiser was a great opportunity to give 19 paintings a “new home” and secure cash to cover bills as the hall looks to keep going during lockdown.
She said: “This will help us raise funds for the hall to keep us going.
“It is also a shame these paintings are sitting in a cupboard so we thought it would be nice to have people in the community have a chance to own them.”
The auction will run 9am on Friday until 9am on June 5.
Mrs Jones added: “We are doing bids through private Facebook messages and every day someone will update the list of the bidders.
“If you have been outbid you will be notified.
“We do get a lot of help from the community but we would welcome any other donations.”
