A Moray outdoor charity has launched a virtual challenge fundraiser in a bid to “weather” the financial storm caused by the pandemic.
Outfit Moray is encouraging people to cycle, run or paddle the distance of the North Coast 500, NE250 or Moray Way to raise vital funds throughout July.
Community fundraiser Karen Cox said: “The coronavirus lockdown has had a huge impact on our fundraising ability – as it has on so many small charities.
“People can take part on their own or they can combine their miles as part of a virtual team or household.
“We hope lots of families will enjoy it as part of their daily exercise.”
Chief executive Tony Brown hopes the summer challenge “inspires” people to support the charity during these difficult times.
Mr Brown said: “While our usual programme of outdoor activities is currently suspended, we have been delivering cycling sessions to the children of key workers in the local school hubs.
“Bike Revolution has been able to service and repair over 40 key workers’ bikes thanks to funding from Cycling UK.
“Our comprehensive programme of life-changing outdoor learning activities is unique to Moray and we are heavily relied-upon by local schools and youth groups, as well as families, but our fundraising is severely limited during these difficult times.”
