91-year-old woman dies in house fire in Moray village

A 91-year-old woman has died following a house fire in Moray.

Emergency services were called to Clark Street in Hopeman at about 4.20pm on Sunday and remained at the scene into the early hours of the morning.

Today police have confirmed that a woman died in the incident.

A spokeswoman said: “A 91 year-old woman has died following a fire at a house in Clark Street in Hopeman on Sunday.

“Emergency Services were called to the address at 4.25pm on Sunday afternoon and inquiries are continuing.

“There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
