A Moray cashmere manufacturer has designed a limited edition Rainbow Scarf to support the NHS.
Johnstons of Elgin have scarves on sale at £200 and will donate £100 to NHS Charities Together for each one sold.
NHS Charities Together is a federation of around 250 charitable organisations that support the NHS, its employees, volunteers and patients in the UK.
During the pandemic, the rainbow has become a symbol of hope and used as a mark of appreciation for healthcare workers.
The cashmere scarf has been created using Jacquard technology, a technique exclusive to Johnstons in Europe, which makes it possible t create a blended colour design.
Creative Director Alan Scott said: “We felt it was important, now more than ever, to continue to support the UK’s response to the coronavirus.”
Last month, the company produced small batches of scrubs for Dr Gray’s Hospital and local primary care centres while they awaited NHS supplies.
Johnstons is one of the last remaining vertical mills in the UK still carrying out all the processes from raw cashmere and fine woollen fibres to the finished product.
The scarves can be bought on www.johnstonsofelgin.com.
