Inspectors have praised improvements made at a Moray care home following a critical report.
Spynie Care Home in Elgin was given a deadline to make progress by the Care Inspectorate or risk losing its registration.
Officials returned to the premises last month to check on changes made following January’s report.
Concerns were raised at the time about meals, communication with families and leadership.
Now, in a report that will be presented to the Scottish Parliament, the Care Inspectorate considers the home, which is run by Intobeige Ltd, to be operating at a “good standard”.
It states: “We observed compassionate, warm care being given to people living in the home.
“The environment was clean and safe. The home was making appropriate use of PPE and hand hygiene.
“Anticipatory care planning was in place and there was good liaison with GPs to support individuals’ health.
“Staff demonstrated confidence and knowledge about their role and about infection prevention and control.
“There was good oversight by management and evidence of the management team working well together.”
A wing at Spynie Care Home was converted in the early stages of Health and Social Care Moray’s Covid-19 response to free up beds at Dr Gray’s Hospital for possible coronavirus patients.
The Care Inspectorate says the improvement notice it served on the home, which has a capacity of 56 people, remains in place.
