A six-month project to upgrade gas pipes in a Moray town will begin today.
More than 1,000 yards of pipeline in Forres will be replaced in the works that will cost £168,000.
SGN has postponed all non-essential work during the coronavirus lockdown.
However, it is now beginning to resume activity with projects prioritised as part of a phased approach.
The work in Forres will be done on Macbeth Road, Varis Road, Forbes Road, Meikle Crook, Councillor’s Walk, Thornhill Road, St Catherine’s Road and at the High Street roundabout.
Engineers are expected to finish the project by December 21.
A spokeswoman said: “We’re continuing to prioritise emergency and safety-critical work on our network.
“Our essential work will ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
“We’re working closely with the Scottish Government to make sure we carry out our projects in line with current coronavirus safety guidance.
“Typically, our work won’t involve entering homes or businesses at this stage unless it’s an emergency.”
