The emergency services were called to a Moray road after a serious head-on crash between two cars last night.
The collision took place at approximately 7pm on a stretch of the A941 Elgin to Lossiemouth road about a mile north of the Buccaneer Petrol Station in Elgin.
Two ambulances attended and two people were taken to hospital, though it is understood their condition was not thought to be life-threatening.
A white Vauxhall Corsa and red Toyota Aygo were both left badly damaged.
The force of the impact had forced both cars partially from the road, and debris was scattered across the carriageway.
The road was closed while police and fire crews attended, though the firefighters were not required to free any occupants of the cars and reported that the matter was in hand after 7.30pm.
Stagecoach also had to reroute its 33A service between the two towns as a result of the crash.
