Stagecoach Bluebird has made the final in two categories at this year’s Scottish Transport Awards.
The bus company spent £3.5million on 15 new vehicles for the Service 35 between Aberdeen and Elgin last year.
And now the electric hybrids have resulted in the firm being shortlisted for the best bus service and contribution to sustainable transport categories.
All 15 buses on the route give a weekly saving of 5560kg of carbon dioxide.
Managing director Peter Knight said: “I’m really proud our Service 35 has gained this recognition for the improvements we’ve delivered over the last 18 months.
“The service operates out of our depot in Macduff and the service making it to the final is testament to the commitment of the team in Macduff providing a quality service keeping the communities connected.”
The ceremony takes place in Glasgow on September 24.
