Crews from Forres, Elgin and Nairn attended the incident at Culbin Forest, between Forres and Dyke. A spokeswoman for the service was unable to provide exact details of the blaze other than to say it was a “large fire out in the open”. Crews were called to the coastal beauty spot at 3.40pm and reported back that the flames were under control at about 6.20pm. They used two main jets and an all-terrain vehicle in their efforts to battle the blaze.
