Delayed construction work on a new Scottish Government-funded playground in a Moray town will begin next week.
The £43,000 project at Ian Johnston Park in Buckie was due to begin before the coronavirus pandemic before being pushed back.
The slide at the park has been fenced off for months due to concerns it had become dangerous alongside other worn-out apparatus.
Most of the equipment will be removed with accessible replacements due to be installed as part of the 20-piece design so all children can enjoy the park.
Work is due to begin on Tuesday next week with families urged to stay away while the construction is under way.
It is expected that the revamped site, which Moray Council is funding from the Scottish Government’s town centre regeneration fund, will be complete within weeks.
Buckie councillor Sonya Warren said: “I know how welcome the regeneration of this play park is for families.
“While the work has unfortunately been delayed due to circumstances outwith our control, it will be worth the wait and I and many others are looking forward to seeing residents and visitors to Buckie make the most of the new play equipment for many years to come.”
