Teams are being invited to sign up for the Lossiemouth Raft Race at the start of August.
Thousands of people lined the route last summer for the 37th annual race, when rafts set out from under the Seatown Bridge at the mouth of the River Lossie.
Flight Lieutenant Dave Hapgood, who is part of the organising team, said: “The race is a well-known and well-loved event in the calendar for us.
“This year I think it will be bigger than ever. We expect a strong team from The Steamboat Inn in the town as they try to win back the trophy from RAF Lossiemouth’s own MT Section.
“But there were some other strong teams last year so we expect a good race for the trophy this year.”
Each year the shield, which has the names of every winner engraved on it, is handed to the winning team alongside an unusual trophy – a framed and mounted toilet seat
The organisers are also encouraging any organisations and businesses interested in providing stalls or entertainment.
For more information, and the relevant forms to apply to provide a stall or enter a team on Sunday, August 3, visit the “events” page on RAF Lossiemouth’s web site.
