A Moray businessman and veteran has been awarded the prestigious Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award.
Shaun Moat, who runs Moray Digital based in Forres, received the accolade from the Ministry of Defence in recognition of his support to the Armed Forces community.
The scheme recognises those who demonstrate or advocate support to the Armed Forces community and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
To earn the silver award, winners must employ at least one individual from the forces community and actively ensure their workforce is aware of their positive policies.
Mr Moat, who served at RAF Kinloss before a year as a air steward to 10 Squadron at RAF Brize Norton flying on VC10s, said it was an honour to be recognised.
He added: “I feel it is my responsibility to do my bit to support our armed forces personnel and their families.”
Mr Moat’s firm provides free hour-long advice sessions to armed forces personnel looking to get into work. E-mail info@moraydigital.co.uk with the subject line Armed Forces.
