Bin collections in a Moray town will be changed from next week to try and make them more reliable.
Missed pick-ups have been reported across the region during the pandemic due to physical distancing between staff and more waste being generated by households resulting in longer rounds for crews.
Now Moray Council has announced recycling and green bin collections in Buckie will be put back a week from Monday to make them more reliable.
Waste manager Mike Neary explained crews would collect any excess waste from the following week.
He said: “We’re still facing the challenges presented by the pandemic. Our crews have been working extremely hard, but we recognise there are changes we can make for the better, so this is exactly what we’re doing.
“Altering this collection schedule for around 5,300 Buckie homes will improve the service we can offer our residents.”
