Local groups in Moray are set to benefit from £40,000 worth of funding from the Awards for All Scotland grant scheme.
Elgin Bowling Club is to receive £10,000 and is planning to use the money to renovate the clubhouse to replace windows, external doors, roofing and cladding.
Hopeman Community Association has benefited from a £10,000 grant which will provide the hall with a new floor as the current surface is damaged in a number of areas.
Knockando School Parent Council is using £7,835 to improve the school’s outdoor space area by installing an outdoor classroom and agility trail. The project will benefit the school’s 45 pupils and a further 15 children, who attend the local playgroup.
In addition the Elgin Duellist Fencing Club will receive £6,680 so that they can purchase adult fencing equipment in order to expand their membership.
The River Findhorn Interpretative Trust’s £4,608 which will go towards creating a new path at Randolph’s Leap, between the main road and the River Dava, in order to improve access to the Leap from other nearby walking routes.
Moray MSP Richard Lochhead said: “This is fantastic news for all of these local groups, with grant awards for projects that promote both indoor and outdoor activities across Moray.
“The awards support a range of sporting and community activity that will benefit a lot of locals and visitors alike.”
