Emergency crews to return to forest fire in Moray

Emergency crews were called to Forres to help extinguish a forest fire on Sunday evening.

Teams were alerted to the blaze, in a wooded area near the town, at around 5.30pm.

A spokeswoman said four appliances and two main jets were at the scene, some of which were called out around 7pm.

It is not thought anyone has been injured.

Some of the crews began withdrawing later in the evening as the sun began to set.

Crews are expected to return this morning around 8am to carry out inspections to ensure the extinguished woodland has not reignited.
