Businesswoman hopes to ‘bring more people’ to Moray town by transforming bridal shop into podiatry clinic

Perfect Moments Bridal Boutique in Buckie could be transformed into a podiatry clinic.
Perfect Moments Bridal Boutique in Buckie could be transformed into a podiatry clinic.

A former bridal shop could be transformed into a podiatry clinic to “bring more people” to a Moray town.

The premises in Buckie used to be home to the Perfect Moments Bridal Boutique.

Now, Banff Chiropody and Podiatry’s Sasha Cameron has lodged a full planning application with Moray Council to convert the unit at 2 Gordon Street into a clinic.

Mrs Cameron, who is keen to expand her business, said: “We have a waiting list of patients ready to use the service and wish to open as soon as possible.

“This will be beneficial to other local businesses as we bring people into the town, as well as taking pressure off local NHS services.”

A planning statement for the proposed change of use to the building said that “no structural or internal changes” will be needed as the existing layout meets requirements.

The report added: “The Chiropody and Podiatry clinic would be providing foot health services and the hours of operation will be Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm.

“There would be no evening or weekend working and music will be played in the clinic.”

The clinic would employ two members of staff – a podiatrist and receptionist – who would see about 6 to 8 clients per day, for what are usually one hour appointments.

Members of the public can comment on the plans and lodge objections or letters of support.

Details can be found on the council’s website.
