A man has been charged after a crash which has blocked the A96 in Elgin.
Police were called to the Aberdeen to Inverness road near Dr Gray’s Hospital just before 1pm.
The incident involved two vehicles, a Vauxhall Viva and a Ford Focus.
Police have remained at the scene for several hours and confirmed that a 73-year-old man had been charged with alleged road traffic offences.
Three ambulances attended the scene and one person was transported to Dr Gray’s Hospital.
Police were unable to provide an update on injuries.
Drivers are still advised to plan their trip in advance and to avoid the area.
A police spokeswoman said: “Around 12.30pm on Friday, 25 September, officers were called to a two-vehicle crash on the A96, High Street, Elgin.
“An ambulance and other emergency services partners attended.
While a ambulance service spokesman added: “We received a call at 1230 hours today to attend an incident in Elgin.
“We dispatched three ambulances to the scene and transported one patient to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin.”
