Keith is taking part tomorrow in a global 24-hour ceilidh in the build-up to the Commonwealth Games.
Scottish-themed dances will be taking place at 15 various locations around the world both inside and outside of the Commonwealth.
The first ceilidh is being held in the New Zealand town of Waipu.
Two hours later, festivities will also begin in Dalkeith in Australia.
From there the global event will move on to a dance being staged by a group of Scottish ex-pats in the Indonesian capital Jakarta, before continuing around the world.
The global ceilidh will reach Scotland 13 hours later, with the final dance finishing in Hawaii a full 24 hours after the event started.
One of the organisers of the dance in Keith, local councillor Gary Coull, said: “It’s our hope that the Keith community will come out and celebrate the Commonwealth Games coming to Scotland.
“The event will also be raising some much needed funds for Alzheimer Scotland, which is a really worthy cause.”
Elizabeth Foster, the executive officer of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society which has been pivotal in co-ordinating all the ceilidhs across the world, said: “We’re delighted that people will be joining hands all around the world to celebrate Scotland’s culture.”
Gled Tae Be Glaikit will be providing the music for the dancing in St Thomas’ Hall in Keith.
The event starts at 8pm and goes on until late. Tickets are £8 and all proceeds will go to Alzheimer Scotland. Bring your own bottles.
The Queen’s baton relay before the Glasgow event will be passing through Moray from the afternoon of July 2 until the morning of July 4, visiting more than a dozen towns and villages along its route to the opening ceremony.
