An Elgin City FC coach has been dropped after he allegedly posted an offensive message on social media.
The expletive-ridden Twitter post on an account belonging to Chris De Sykes referred to former Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd, who turned down approaches from the Dons to today sign a one-year contract with Rangers.
In the post, Boyd was described as “money grabbing” and De Sykes said he hoped the footballer would break his leg and end his career.
In a statement, Elgin City said: “Following a completely unacceptable personal posting on social media, Mr Chris De Sykes is no longer associated with Elgin City FC.
“The matter has been reported to the appropriate authorities.”
