Two large fires took place in a Moray town in the early hours of this morning.
Fire teams from Elgin were kept busy all evening after a home in the Lhanbryde area near the town was set ablaze.
Separately a caravan and two cars were set alight on Elgin’s Linkwood Road, on the Troves Industrial Estate, prompting a joint investigation between Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
Two appliances from Elgin and one from Fochabers were sent to the vehicle fires, in the south-east of the town at around 2am.
After it was contained, all three appliances and a crew from Lossiemouth were sent to the house fire in Lhanbryde just after 3am.
The fire and rescue service were alerted to the blaze following several calls from locals in the area.
One woman was in the house when the fire began, but escaped the building unharmed.
A fire spokesman said: “We had a dwelling fire in Lhanbryde and had four pumps and the incident support van and a welfare vehicle there as well.
“Some one was at home home, and luckily she got out.”
Three of the fire crews were sent home just before 7am, with one pump still on scene dousing the house.
The spokesman added: “There’s still one crew there damping down.”
