The Keith Show got off to a good start yesterday as scores of people turned out to take in the array of attractions.
The two-day event offers visitors the chance to watch traditional agricultural and horticultural competitions while enjoying some family fun too.
Some visitors admired a huge display of vintage tractors, took in a truck show, and perused more than 200 trade stalls, while others simply watched the Highland dancers and massed pipe bands perform.
Tina Craib, secretary of the show, said: “We don’t have the exact number of people that were here but it was easily on a par with last year if not more.
“There were two very brief showers but luckily we seem to have missed most of the rain.
“We are expecting another good turnout, with the adrenaline stunt show and livestock judging.”
New additions to the programme this year included a haggis hurling contest, with competitors hoping to beat the world record of 217ft.
There is also a new fur and feather competition – with yesterday’s judges picking out the best ducks, and today’s focusing on rabbits.
The team from the Jason Smyth Adrenalin Stunt Show wowed the crowd as they did some heart-stopping tricks with quad bikes, while daring visitors themselves could had a go on the bucking bronco.
Today, the entertainment and judging continues with full livestock competitive classes including the WR Simmers Scottish Beef Champion of Champions competition.
There will be also be the crop competition prizegiving and trade stand presentation.
The show field is open to the public from 8.30am-5.30pm. Entry is £10 for adults and £5 for children aged between 14 and 16. Free entry for children up to 14.
