A Moray art group has set up shop in Fochabers with the aim of showcasing local talent.
The premises, called Artology, will stock produce by artists such as Rachel Ashton who specialises in paintings, prints, cards and recycled jewellery.
Speyside based artists Rant and Stave who make gifts and accessories from whisky barrel staves will also have work on display.
The base follows a week-long trial by the Speyside Artisans group, which opened a temporary shop during Speyfest in July to assess demand.
It proved such a success that members decided to push for a longer lease and a permanent home.
Kathryn Abrahams, shop organiser and one of the founding members of Speyside Artisans, said: “We had a great response during the week of Speyfest from local people and visitors who wanted to buy Scottish products.
“Sales were excellent.
“This is our first permanent shop, for the past five years we have had pop up shops in the St Giles centre in Elgin and at other local events.”
Members pride themselves on good-quality hand-crafted goods which are locally produced.
Among the attractions at the new unit is in-house kilt maker Joy Mann, who works as the shop manager.
She said: “I’m really pleased to have a place in Fochabers with a great vibe.
“This venture has pulled together a diverse bunch of characters to achieve something great.
“Passers by can come in and see the kilt making and it does interest them and draw them in.”
The Speyside Artisans hope to extend the venture in the future with backroom workshops for people wanting to learn crafts, such as glass making, and sewing.
There are also plans for a small gallery where local schoolchildren could display their artwork.
The shop is located at 29 High Street Fochabers.
