Norman Calder was the latest casualty from the Great British Bake-off as Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry decided his bakes just weren’t exciting enough.
As the news was broken social media instantly became a mass of sadness and sympathy for Norman who had become a real favourite online – for reasons like this.
