The streets of Forres will come alive this weekend with live music, street theatre, crafts and arts exhibitions.
As part of the inaugural Findhorn Bay Arts Festival, which runs from tomorrow until Sunday, residents and visitors can enjoy a culture day.
Last year’s event drew crowds of about 3,000, and organisers are hoping Saturday’s event will inspire even more people to try out the range of activities on offer.
For art lovers, renowned fine artists Owen Normand and Elizabeth Strath will be exhibiting in the Nicholson building on St Catherines Road, Forres.
There will also be modern and traditional music at various venues, including the Mosset Tavern, while Forres Pipe Band and TNT Highland Youth Street Band are also lined up to march through the town.
There will also be various crafts for people to try, including basket weaving, pot making and traditional dance.
Visitors can also pop by the Ingenuity fair in the Tolbooth, examine the 40ft fuselage section of the RAF Nimrod or sample local produce at the Victorian market.
Kresanna Aigner, Culture Day organiser and director of Findhorn Bay Arts, said: “Growing from our inaugural event in 2013 Culture Day 2014 will sit at the heart of the first Findhorn Bay Arts Festival.
“There will be an incredible range of activities that really will inspire people of all ages and open their doors to the range of activities taking place on our doorstep.”
Culture Day is free, and will run from 11am-4pm.
