THRILL seeking cyclists in Moray have been offered another fix of two-wheeled fun at the Glenlivet Estate.
A new 75-metre “pump track” will test the skills of riders over a series of jumps, bumps and beams.
The track sits at the start of the well-established and popular mountain bike trails beside The Coffee Still Cafe.
Vicky Hilton, countryside manager at The Glenlivet Estate, said: “The newly constructed pump track is a fun addition to the bike trails and is already proving popular for both youngsters gaining their confidence and learning to tackle the technical features, and with more experienced riders warming up before heading out onto the trails.
“With more than 12,000 visitors using the trails since they opened last year, BikeGlenlivet is attracting a huge amount of interest from families as well as experienced riders. We will continue to listen to feedback and add to the existing facilities where we can to ensure that the trail centre continues to deliver a great visitor experience for all ages.”
The BikeGlenlivet trails are set in the Carn Daimh forest near Tomintoul. Riders can choose from the blue graded 9km route which takes in several downhill sections and is good for beginners or the red graded 22km course.
The longer route is designed for more experienced riders and also offers and opportunity to hike up to the summit of Carn Daimh, which offers breathtaking views of the Cairngorms.
BikeGlenlivet is also home to the Rock&Road cycling festival which takes place annually in May and aims to celebrate the sport with a range of family friendly and extreme mountain bike events.
