Strong winds and surge will coincide with high astronomical tides today. Large waves and spray overtopping are likely in areas exposed to the strong onshore winds. Flooding to low lying areas is possible. At this stage the period of greatest risk is at the high tide late this evening and early tomorrow morning. Heavy rain is expected to affect the area today as rivers are expected to rise and there may be some localised flooding to low lying areas. SEPA will continue to monitor the situation and further updates will appear on the SEPA website if the situation changes.
