Photo: Jasperimage A person has died following a fire in Keith. Emergency services were called to Union Street in the Moray town at about 3.30pm on Sunday. Witnesses reported seeing at least at least four fire units in the area at the time as well as police cars and an ambulance. It is understood the fire was extinguished within an hour of emergency crews being notified. However, police have now confirmed a body was found in the building once personnel were able to get inside. It is understood Union Street was closed between its junctions with Mid Street and the A96 Aberdeen road while crews worked at the scene. A spokesman said: “We were made aware of a fire at a property on Union Street in Keith around 3.35pm on Sunday, 28 November, 2021. “The fire has been extinguished by the fire service but sadly a body of a person was found within. “Inquiries are ongoing and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.”
