A 21-year-old man has been arrested following an early-morning “disturbance” that led armed police to descend on a cul-de-sac in Buckie.
Officers were called to the property on Lawson Place in the Moray town at around 5.40am, and were still reported to be on the scene several hours later.
They said the incident was confined to one property and ended without any injuries.
A resident from Lawson place explained that she was awoken around 7am after hearing “shouting” and seeing a light pass her bedroom window.
She recalled hearing the armed police announcing they had arrived, telling the residents to stay indoors and away from the windows.
She said: “It was horrible, I just went through and grabbed the wee one and took him to the livingroom.
“It’s just been mayhem here today, I was in shock and it was scary.”
Inspector Neil Morrison, of Elgin Police Station, said: “We were made aware of a man causing a disturbance at a property on Lawson Place in Buckie around 5.40am on Sunday, January 23.
“Officers, including a number of specialist resources, attended and a 21-year-old man was subsequently arrested.
“Nobody was injured and the incident was contained to the single property.
“The local community are thanked for their understanding as officers dealt with the incident.”
