Here we take a look at some of the latest standout planning applications submitted to and determined by Moray Council.
There are proposals to turn vacant land into a space for a car sales firm in Elgin and the demolition of a former Hopeman service station to make way for business units.
Also the demolition of existing farm buildings to clear the ground for six houses is proposed at Keith farm.
Planners have also approved Dufftown offices being converted into a flat and extension of facilities at Elgin farm.
Extension to car display space
Vacant land could be used for the sale and display of motor vehicles for firm Paul Williamson Cars.
Colin Armstrong Architects is representing Paul Williamson in the application for the change of use of land on Riverside Road, Elgin.
The undeveloped site is currently designated as classes 4 (business), 5 (general industrial) and 6 (storage or distribution in the Moray local development plan.
If planning is approved, the site could be laid to gravel or tar with edge kerbing only.
Six new houses near Keith
An application has been submitted by John Wink Design on behalf on Backmuir Trading Limited.
In a planning statement, the firm said: “We would like to create more modern homes
that are more in keeping with the character of the rural setting providing the occupants with more privacy than the original site layout.”
New business units proposed at site of existing Hopeman service station
It is proposed a business unit, a smaller light industrial unit and three small industrial business starter units will be built there.
The development will include parking, drainage and access.
Springfield Real Estate Management is representing Saltire Business Park Limited in the application for the brownfield site on Forsyth Street.
A planning statement read: “We propose to site high-quality small business elements which would provide employment, supporting local economy growth, providing
space for a small local business and businesses to.
In the past week, Moray Council has also determined some applications.
Planners have also approved offices being converted into a flat and extension of facilities at Elgin farm.
Offices to be turned into a flat
In Dufftown, offices will be transformed into a flat.
This comes after an application submitted by Ronald Low for Offices 33 on Balvenie Street was given the green light.

The planning application was submitted by John Wink Design on behalf of CHR Russell.
