Marvin Andrews has left Elgin City by mutual consent.
The former Rangers and Livinston defender, who lives at Kirkcaldy, last featured for the League 2 club in a 3-0 defeat at Albion Rovers on December 6.
Andrews, 39, joined the Borough Briggs club on a one-year deal after impressing as a trialist in three matches at the beginning of the season.
He was enticed to Elgin by his former Livingston team-mate Barry Wilson but, following Wilson’s resignation and the arrival of Jim Weir as manager at the club, both parties have agreed to go their separate ways.
Peterhead could send out defender Ross Smith and midfielder Ryan McCann on loan in a bid to speed up their return to action after injury.
Former Dundee United midfielder Smith has been out of action since the beginning of November due to knee surgery with man-of-many clubs McCann not being involved since October due to a troublesome calf problem.
Blue Toon manager Jim McInally said: “Both players are over their injuries but they need game time. They could go out to a junior side for a month or so to do that and I am looking about to see what could be done.”
