Police are appealing for witnesses after a van was vandalised in the Robertson Road area of Lhanbryde over New Year.
The white Peugeot Boxer was damaged between 9.30pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 and 1.40pm on Friday, January 2, 2015.
An offensive word was scratched into the side of the vehicle.
The cost of repairs has not yet been established.
Constable Paul Thompson, of the Fochabers local policing team, urged any witnesses to come forward.
Councillor Sean Morton, Fochabers Lhanbryde, condemned the “mindless” act.
He said: “This is just mindless vandalism. How sad that at a time of year when people are already strapped for cash this vandal has left the owner of the vehicle with more worries.
“It’s a complete lack of respect for other people, and I hope someone comes forward with information.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
