Here we bring you the latest round up of planning decisions by Moray Council.
Plans to turn a farm building into a pet crematorium at Portgordon have been given the green light.
Richard Murray applied for the project on behalf of his wife Josephine, who intends to open the business in September.
He said: “She came up with the idea and I thought it was a good idea for a business. She is compassionate and will do a good job.”
The building will be used for pet incineration and will include office space and a customer room.
Replacing veggies with whisky
D&M Winchester have been granted permission for the change of use at 6 Greshop Road at the Greshop Industrial Estate.
No physical works to the building or surrounding land are proposed. The site is close to a large garden centre.
Eco cabins
Paul Cannavan was granted planning permission for the cabins on the outskirts of Tomintoul at Kirkmichael.
The tourism accommodation will benefit from its location within the Cairngorms National Park. It is situated in an international dark skies site often visited by astronomers and star gazers. There are also hiking opportunities and whisky distilleries close by.
New forest access track
The track will be formed at Bauds. In reaching approval, planners noted that the proposed timber extraction point is not located within an environmentally sensitive area.
Commercial woodland
The site includes a commercial woodland and an area covered by a mixture of rough grassland, gorse and woodland.
Having visited the site, planners found no evidence of protected species. The access works will be relatively minor and will result in limited visual impact. Similar accesses are not uncommon in the area, which is dominated by commercial woodland operations.
Further planning applications can be viewed using Moray Council’s portal.
