A 22-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries following an alleged assault in Buckie.
The incident happened in the town’s Burns Square in the early hours of Friday morning.
Police attended the scene, after receiving reports of an alleged serious assault at around 12.30am.
Officers confirmed one man was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin for treatment. His condition has been described as serious.
Two men, aged 18 and 22, have been arrested in connection to the incident.
It is understood the area remains taped off and inquiries are ongoing.
Serious condition
A police spokeswoman said: “Police inquiries are ongoing after a 22-year-old man was seriously assaulted following a disturbance in Burns Square, Buckie, at around 12.30am on Friday September 2.
“He was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin where hospital staff describe his condition as serious.
“Two men aged 18 and 22 have been arrested and detectives are continuing inquiries.”
