Moray Playhouse in Elgin says it has experienced unprecedented demand from adults for screenings of the steamy thriller. But 2pm performances yesterday and today have been cancelled as some necessary repair work proved noisier than expected. In the interests of film-goers, it was decided not to go ahead with the showings. Screenings of Oscar nominee Birdman, dark drama Foxcatcher and animation Big Hero 6 were also affected. Since its release last Friday, 50 Shades of Grey has dominated the global box office.
