A Moray charity group is encouraging residents to come forward for a fundraising relay race this summer.
Elgin Rotary Club will host its 13th biennial Marafun in June and applications are open now.
While the event is popular with sports clubs, organisers stress it can be just as rewarding for those looking to raise funds – or even just a laugh.
Spokesman Jim Walker said: “I just want people to get their trainers on and get involved.
“We’re particularly keen to try to make this summer’s race more fun and we’ll have special prizes for best fancy dress.
“At this time of year I think a lot of people who had new year resolutions to get fit maybe feel their resolve dimming, so now is the time to dust off that running kit.”
Teams of five are invited to compete in the main event of the day, which is the adult street relay.
Each member is required to run a total of just over five miles around the town centre.
There are a number of team categories for men, ladies, mixed, fun runners, sports clubs and services such as police, ambulance and RAF.
The run will be held on Saturday, June 7, from noon to 5pm.
Since its inception in 1991 the Marafun has raised £650,000 for local charities.
Elgin Rotary has almost finalised its group of 100 charities that will benefit from this year’s proceeds.
