Elgin’s MacMoray Easter Festival is back in April with world famous bands B*Witched and Five due to take to the stage.
This year, 90s pop sensations the Vengaboys were one of the headliners at the Elgin festival, treating concertgoers to dancefloor hits such as We Like to Party and We’re Going to Ibiza, before Bob Geldof and the Boomtown rats closed the event.
Now fans get the chance to experience more 90s nostalgia with 2023’s line-up.
The festival announced two of their acts in a video posted on their Facebook page.
Members of London boyband Five said in the clip: “We’ve heard some amazing things about MacMoray and we can’t wait to perform.”
Five formed in 1997 and were under the same management as the Spice Girls before launching their career where they sold over 10 million records worldwide.
They are best known for hits Keep on Movin’, Slam Dunk (Da Funk) and If Ya Getting Down.
‘Heard brilliant things about MacMoray’
Irish girl band B*Witched became a chart sensation after debut single C’est la vie, with follow-ups including Rollercoaster and Blame it on the Weatherman.
On social media, the band added: “We’ve heard some brilliant things about MacMoray, we can’t wait to perform there next year, see you there.”
B*Witched also had success across Europe and North America during the 1990s and 2000s, selling 3 million albums worldwide by 2002.
MacMoray Easter Festival takes place on April 29 and 30 next year from 10am-11pm at Elgin Cooper Park, both B*Witched and Five will perform on the first night.
The event is expanding from just the one day when it was held this year.
Tickets for the festival are available now on MacMoray’s website.
This article was amended on November 14, 2022 to clarify the Vengaboys were “one of the headliners” at MacMoray. An earlier version said they “headlined” the event.
