Kinloss broke the record for Scotland’s highest overnight temperature in November reaching almost 15C through the night.
The Met Office announced Scotland had new highest minimum temperature records with the hottest area being in Kinloss just outside Forres.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: “We did see the November highest record for minimum temperature broken in Scotland.
After a very mild night across the UK, we have recorded provisional new highest minimum temperature records for November in both Northern Ireland and Scotland (two places) 🌡️

“We saw 14.6C at Kinloss and in Prestwick.”
Areas across Aberdeenshire came close to Kinloss’ new record including Balmoral which recorded 14.5C degrees and Fyvie Castle which reached 14.3C degrees.
The previous overnight record in Scotland was 14.5C, which was recorded in Dyce on November 1, 2007.
What will the weekend be like?
The Met Office has added that the warm weather will largely continue into the weekend with “mild and mostly dry” conditions ahead.
