Taxi fares will increase in Moray next month.
Members of the licensing committee agreed new rates following a consultation with drivers and operators at a meeting this week.
But councillors were disappointed that only six responses were received.
The rates, previously discussed at a meeting in September, will go up by 10%.
Charging for fouling a cab will rise to £200, up from £120.
The new rates, which are the maximum that can be charged, will come into force on December 10.
Conservative councillor for Keith and Cullen Donald Gatt said: “I want to express disappointment there were only six responses.”
SNP member for Speyside Glenlivet Juli Harris agreed with Mr Gatt’s sentiments, and seconded his motion to approve the increase.
The rise was unanimously agreed by the committee.
Taxi fares rise by 10% in Moray
At the moment the most that can be charged for a standard five-mile taxi journey in the local authority area is £15.60.
That goes to £16.60 for a late night booking, £17.30 on bank holidays and £29.85 over the festive period.
The 10% means fares will go up to £17.16, £18.26, £19.03 and £32.84 respectively.
The council is obliged to review taxi charging every 18 months with the last increase coming in four years ago.
At an earlier meeting, councillor John Divers asked it be made clear any rise would be the most taxi operators could charge.
He said: “It needs to be emphasised this is the maximum increase. They don’t have to charge that.”
